Your guided journey begins in the lush rainforest of Ketchikan, where you’ll follow a trail beside cascades, rivers, and moss‑draped viewpoints. As you walk, your guide shares insights about the local trees, plants, and the vibrant ecosystem that surrounds you—along with the traditional edible and medicinal uses of many rainforest species.

The trail gradually opens to the coastline, revealing sweeping views of the Inside Passage. Here, you could spot sea lions and harbor seals moving through the water, and possibly eagles perched in the trees above. And when the tide is low, you’ll have the chance to explore the shoreline in search of starfish, crabs, sea anemones, and other colorful marine life tucked among the rocks.

The walk takes place on a well‑maintained gravel trail approximately 1.5 miles round‑trip. It is rated easy to moderate and includes stairs and inclines at various points. Because this is a private tour, the pace is entirely based on your group’s comfort level.

This experience lasts a total of three hours, including a scenic 30‑minute drive along the Inside Passage to the trailhead and a 30‑minute return drive to your cruise ship. You will spend about two hours exploring the rainforest with your guide.
